The City of Hayward Auxiliary Communications Team provides communications support as a volunteer organization including providing radio operators, training, equipment, and public awareness for disaster emergency and public service. Our served agencies include the emergency response organizations of the City of Hayward, CA. We are a registered RACES unit and 501(c)(3)-recognized. Our club callsign is N6HWD.
Hayward ACT holds a weekly directed net on Mondays at 7:30pm local time on the K6EAG 2m repeater, located at Hayward Executive Airport. This net is not held on the second Monday of each month, which is our in-person meeting time at the EOC in Hayward Fire Station #6. All amateur radio operators are invited to check in on the net, especially members of ARES/RACES/AuxComm groups.

Most of our team's communication capabilities use the amateur radio frequency allocations, though we will use other radio services if the situation requires it. If you are not an amateur radio (ham radio) operator currently, and are interested in getting your license, there are many local clubs in the bay area that can assist you in learning and getting your first amateur radio license. The Hayward Radio Club (K6EAG) is the nearest, and most of our members are also members of the club.
Parking is available on the North side of West Winton Ave about a block before the station.
